Journeys

Craft your own unique experiences by mixing and matching your favourite sessions into a single, seamless journey.

Written by Maya Felstead

Why we created Journeys

We’ve been genuinely moved by the feedback on the sessions in our content library - and time and again, you’ve told us you’d love the freedom to go longer, deeper, and to explore a wider range of experiences.

That’s exactly why we created Journeys. It’s a feature that puts you at the centre, letting you craft your own unique experiences by mixing and matching your favourite sessions to suit any mood or intention.

Journeys lets you play multiple sessions back-to-back as a single, seamless experience, transitioning elegantly from one to the next without ever leaving the flow. Think of it like building a song queue in Spotify, or any other music app. It’s a more immersive, more personal way to explore your inner world - shaped entirely around you.

What can you do with Journeys?

Journeys is all about giving you more - more immersion, more personalisation, and more variety. Here’s what it opens up:

  • Immersion. By combining multiple sessions into a single Journey, you can immerse yourself in a Lumenate experience that lasts far longer than our current longest session, which currently sits at around 30 minutes. When you want to go deep and stay there, Journeys makes it possible.

  • Personalisation. Open control means you can tailor a Journey to your exact preferences. If you’d like a longer period of grounding before the main event, you choose which session grounds you, and for how long. If you love easing out of an experience in a particular way, you decide which session gently guides you back to the present.

  • Variety. With an almost endless number of session combinations to discover, Journeys invites you to experiment and uncover experiences you’ve never had before.

How do I create a Journey?

Building a Journey is quick, intuitive, and happens right from the session pages you already know. To get started:

  1. Open the session page for any session you’d like to add to your Journey, and tap the button in the bottom-left corner, next to “Play Session.” This creates a new Journey, which for now contains just that one session.

  2. Navigate to the session page of another session you’d like to include, and tap the bottom-left button again to add it.

  3. Keep going until your Journey feels complete. You can add up to 5 sessions to a single Journey.

Adding a session to the current Journey from the session page

When you’re ready to begin, simply tap Play Journey from the Create a Journey page. You can reach this page at any time by tapping Go to Journey on the session page of any session already in your Journey, or by tapping your current Journey summary on the home page.

How do I remove sessions from my Journey?

Changed your mind about a session? Removing it is easy. From the Create a Journey page, swipe left on any session you’d like to take out.

If you prefer, there are a few other ways to do the same thing:

  • Tap the duration selector for the session you want to remove, then tap Remove.

  • On iOS, tap Edit, then tap the red button beside a session to remove it. On Android, tap Clear to remove all sessions from your current Journey at once.

  • You can also remove a session from its own session page by tapping the bottom-left button again. You’ll notice the icon changes back from a tick to a plus, confirming it’s been removed.

How do I change the order of sessions in my Journey?

The order of your sessions shapes the arc of your experience, so it’s easy to rearrange them until the flow feels right.

On iOS, head to the Create a Journey page and tap Edit. You can then drag your sessions into whatever order you like.

On Android, simply drag any session you’d like to move into its new position.

How long can I make my Journey?

Journeys currently support up to 5 sessions. Depending on the sessions you choose and their durations, a single Journey could comfortably run beyond 2 hours - giving you all the room you need to settle in and go deep.

Which sessions can I add to a Journey?

Almost every session in the app can be added to a Journey. There are just a few exceptions:

  • Discover Lumenate

  • Discover Nova

  • Instructional Series

On iOS, the following sessions aren’t supported just yet:

  • Vocal Toning

  • Choose Your Own Soundtrack (CYOS)

  • Choose Your Own Soundtrack Sleep

What makes a great Journey?

One of the reasons we built Journeys was to help you create something that’s truly personal to you. So our biggest encouragement is simple: experiment. Play, explore, and discover what a “great” Journey feels like to you.

If you’d like a starting point, it can help to think about the narrative arc you want to take yourself on. One framework we love looks like this:

  • Grounding. Begin with a session that grounds you in the present moment and clears your mind, ready for what follows.

  • Core experience. Move into a more intense session that lets you go deeper and fully immerse yourself.

  • Meditative transition. Close with something calmer that gently brings you back to your surroundings.

It’s a lovely rhythm to explore - but it’s only a suggestion. The best Journey is the one that feels right for you.

Can I save a Journey?

At the moment it’s not possible to save a Journey, but it’s something that we’re looking to implement in the future. If it’s something that would elevate your experience of Lumenate, or if you have any other feedback on the feature, please let us know.

Is Journeys a premium feature?

Journeys is currently available with a subscription or a free trial, so you can start exploring it straight away.
